Living Life on a Roller Coaster

Just when I think I have this game all figured out a curve ball comes into the frey… or several. As many of you have probably realised this blog was down for a few days. I tried to add a post but it wouldn’t let me. This was the first time I hadn’t made a post on a daily basis so it was a little disappointing to have that privilege taken away from me from a hosting company.

So after several days of the site being down and my Craps site running very slow it was finally back up. I decided I would make some catch up posts and begin to add some static posts. The computer was running a little slow, so I decided to reboot. BAM. There goes the motherboard and now I don’t have a computer to use.

I spent that day chilling with my Grandfather because it was the last day I was going to be there. Today I went and helped friends move house for about 8 hours. Was good to get out into the sun, do some physical work and drink beer. By the end of it though I was pretty stuffed. Just had to have a long hot shower and a brutal coffee to wake me up.

So after I did all this I decided to check my stats. The last thing that happened before the computer broke was that I got my first Craps RMP (Real Money Player). He deposited $25 at Cherry red and lost so I earned a whopping $6.49.

When I logged in tonight I saw that I had two more RMP’s. So I had received one each day, three days in a row. That is pretty good going. Here is where it gets interesting though. I noticed that my monthly balance was $0.00. I was thinking; where is my $6.49!? I decided to investigate this catastrophe a little bit further. What did I find? My account balance is -$11,070.25. Haha. I have no idea how that happened, but I am assuming he won a slots jackpot or something.

By now I thought I had had enough excitement for one sitting. But never write off Skynet, they will always find some way to ruin the party! I noticed my stats were down for today and it was the first day I hadn’t received an RMP for a little while. I tried to log in to the WordPress backend to no avail. I decided to check the Craps website and alas, I have no website anymore. My site is down yet again.

Choosing a Hosting Plan as an Affiliate

I am now in the middle of switching to Blue Host. I am still trying to figure out how to exactly do it which is why my sites aren’t being hosted there as yet. I have only heard great things about these guys so I think I will be safe over there. Fingers crossed. If I run into trouble they have live support as well as a forum which I will put to good use.

I also found out that for some reason Skynet erased all of the plugins for this blog. That is a pain in the arse. These guys have almost set me back a week from all the stuffing around they have caused me and the down time of my sites.

I have learned a tough lesson though. If your livelihood depends on working online then you really should make smart decisions for services you rely on. Even if it costs a few extra bucks, that could save you a lot of money in the long run. What is an extra 20 bucks here and there in the grand scheme of things?

Direction of This Affiliate Blog

Since the site being down I have seen the traffic go from 40-50 uniques a day to just 4. This is a direct reflection of the site being down which sucks. I have worked hard to post here every day and stay true to my word that I would post ever day for a year. Unfortunately due to circumstances outside of my control I wasn’t able to post for a couple of days. There were some days though where I posted more than once. I will do this over the coming days as well to make up for the lost days.

So what is the direction of this blog? I want to start adding static pages. On these pages will be resources that affiliates will find useful for a long time into the future. I forsee it as being a focal point where they can quickly access guides or links to what they need on a particular topic.

What will be on the static pages? The first thing that I will be adding is an affiliate blog page. I will be adding the affiliate blogs that I read on a regular basis and also can add blogs on there by request.

I also want to start writing “how to” guides in the future. For new and experienced affiliates I think we can all agree that it is beneficial to see how others go about things on a daily basis. I hope to see discussions on these pages as well so we can come up with the best possible resource for readers.

That’s all I have to say for now. I apologise for the blog being down but there wasn’t much I could do about it in the circumstances. You can all start checking back regularly again for your daily affiliate blogging.

Please leave a comment whenever you can. It is greatly appreciated.

I’d contact your AM at the casino you promote to see if the player cashed out that $11k. If he was the guy that only deposited $25, chances are he did. But hopefully this is at a non-carryover casino and you make $11k MGR next month on top of your normal earnings when he loses it back, as they almost all always do. :P

Hey Roger,

Yeah it is at a non carryover casino (Cherry Red). The guy made 3 deposits totalling around $650.

Hopefully that’s a good sign he could be one that loses it back.

On a side note – if anyone has any ideas of what they would like to see on this blog then just hit me with a comment and I’ll get onto it.

That’s actually the perfect scenario and C-planet is good about things like that.

Glad to see the blog is finally back up :) I have been having a lot of trouble with Skynet lately as well and i am moving all my sites away from there.

I think having a player winning $11K in the casino where you dont have negative carryover is one of the best things that can happen to you. Especially since it is at the end of the month and you don’t have many other players generating any revenue as of yet. And since this guy made deposits totalling $650 chances are pretty good he will lose it all back within short.

Dude, nice blog! Glad I finally stopped over to check it out – I’m just entering the casino business and I’d LOVE to have a non carry over winner like that right out the gate man. I’ve bumped into you’re craps site in the serps and I think it’s great – keep it up!

I know how that feels. One day left before payday, Net Gaming was 12.000 dollars and I had 40% revenue share… some guy won big and net gaming dropped to -7000 dollars. Did I mention AffUnited got negative rollover? hell yeah ;-)
