MJ from Online Poker Affiliate made a post today at Poker Affiliate Listings about people taking down links that were involved in an exchange.
This has got me thinking more about how we need to take control of our businesses and our own destiny. He has all of his link exchanges written down in a document and checks them monthly. This is a great idea and is a sure sign that he is on top of his business. MJ is going from strength to strength as a poker affiliate so I encourage you all to check out his awesome blog.
The time has now come for me to start building the resource section of Successful Affiliate. I simply haven’t got the time to go through and search for all the best resources. I am on a new computer now so I have lost all of my bookmarks.
If readers here can help me out with what they believe should be added (your own sites or others) that would be great. Opinions on new sections to be added will be appreciated as well.
The end of the month is drawing near and it is shaping up to be my best month yet. Even though I haven’t done much work because of my situation, my hard work in the past is beginning to pay off. How is everyone elses month going? Last month was my worst and now this is probably my second best; the gambling industry at its best!
I will leave you guys with a photo of the bridal party from the engagement party. Good times.

You should add Greg’s site newpokeraffiliate.com , it’s got a ton of great info.
Congrats on the good month, you set any goals yet?
Hey John,
Thanks for the heads up – Greg’s site is now added. It’s a great resource for affiliates.
In terms of my goals – the main goal I am striving for is 10k/month by 05/05/10. I’m a long way away from that at the moment but things are looking good.
I will have to sit down and work out my monthly and short term goals. I will write a post when I work it out. At the moment it’s just – work hard and improve each month – but I need more specific goals than that.
Hey Nick,
Now you’re talking! This makes me have to brag a little bit about the tool that I am building, I am sure that I have showed you a preview some time ago. It isn’t ready yet… but coming along nicely.
Because of the fact that I was so fed up with all of the excel sheets in which I administrated my links, I started developing “the perfect tool for link management”. After writing down all my ideas, I bought a domain, made a logo and simply started working.
After 2 weeks I had a simplified working version running and started migrating the first batch of my links (which, quite frankly, was a helluva job).
I do have a commercial plan ready for the tool, but for the time being it is free to anyone that wants to sign-up and provide feedback. Bear in mind, the tool is far from being ready and some (critical) parts are still missing. (See the Release Notes on Home.)
In a nutshell, you can add all your sites and add links per site. There are different types of links: paid (buy, sold), reciprocal, one way, multiple way, etc. Filters will show you exactly what you want. The tool will soon also include an alert system for links that are due to expire, or for instance when a certain PR value of a link suddenly drops (PR on submission will be compared to periodical PR and huge differences may warn you for possible bad neighborhoods). The sky is the limit, really, and when a functionality is of any use – it will implemented.
The down side to it is time. As most affiliates, the show must go on and development for my link tool can only be done in spare time. Sometime however I feel motivated and don’t stop for hours.
Enough now! I invite all readers of Nick’s blog to check it out: http://www.linkadmin.net
If you have me on a messenger, please let me know what you think about it. Keep in mind that it is NOT finished yet and I haven’t given much thought to the work flow as well, so some things might actually not make much sense to you
Follow up:
I forget to mention that it isn’t tested in IE. So you better use FF to be sure that everything works
This tool is an absolute gem for anyone that is interested. Will make a post about it soon.
Thanks for sharing Giorgio – you’re a champion!
Obv you need to add our site to the list of resources, I mean how could you not add Slot Machines
Anyway im glad to see you’re updating your blog on a regular basis…I hope you continue to do that and yeah our month has been pretty kick ass to. No complaints here
As for links..well John has a really neat spreadsheet he created although you still have to enter them yourself. but he had it so it tracks age of links etc and auto updated those times for you. I rely on him for those things
Darn it should have added some for you. I know they arent affiliates but they have some great info

and it looks like Martinez has started writing again on Seo Theory
That sounds like a much better idea than my text document Kaus, tell John to ship that spreadsheet out to folks FOR links – now that’s getting it done. (I accept links for the idea too lol).
Maybe you could add some more general resources like Copyblogger.com, Seth Godin’s blog (http://sethgodin.typepad.com) and MattCutts.com .
Tony from PAS writes some good blog posts too (http://blog.pokeraffiliatesolutions.com/category/poker-affiliate-solutions/monday-sales-call/).
