I’m going overseas in 6 months time, so I’ve decided that there is no better time than now to sort myself out. Working from home full time has started to take its toll on me and I need to do something about it. I have an addictive personality, so I find myself rolling out of bed onto the computer and staying on there until I go to bed again.

This is not the type I lifestyle I envisioned by working at home. The whole point is to be able to spend time enjoying my youth, not locked away in a room.

I have devised a plan to get my life back on track. Part of that plan includes keeping tabs on my progress. I will be closely monitoring developments by blogging on here, which keeps me honest. Here are my current measurements that I will be keeping an eye on:

Waist 92cm – 36.2 inches

Chest 95cm – 37.4 inches

Bicepts 29cm – 11.4 inches

Thighs 57.5cm – 22.6 inches

Weight 82kg – 180.4 pounds (to be confirmed)

Back Photo.

I did these measurements myself so they could be dodgy. That being said, it should be a good guidelines on my progress.

An Unproductive Life

This week is typical of why I am so unproductive. I have no energy, eat terribly, have a shocking sleep pattern and don’t exercise. This does not work well for someone with an outgoing personality that used to play competitive sport 7 days a week.

To fill you in on just how unhealthy my lifestyle is, you just have to take a look at the following reflection on this past week. Today I got up and went for my first run in a long time. I managed to last a whopping 6 minutes. My shin hurt, I had to walk home.

Before I went for that run this morning, I had not been out of the house since Tuesday. The week before that I was at my Granfather’s (100 metres to a great beach) and I went outside once.

My sleeping pattern has been appalling. Last night I went to bed at midnight and woke up at 2:30am. I woke in a sweat. I couldn’t sleep any longer because yesterday I slept from 10am to 4pm. Previous to that I had been sleeping from 6am to 2 pm.

Starting to get a picture of just how unhealthy my lifestyle is yet? I took some photos of myself today for some before shots so I can monitor my progress. As you might be able to pick up, I have acne all across my back. I haven’t had acne since I was in high school. I’m assuming it has something to do with being stale on the computer all day and my eating habits.

Eating habits you say? I generally wake up at whatever hour and have some toast. Because I haven’t been grocery shopping there usually isn’t anything to eat here. So what I do is I hold off eating until dinner time which is at about 6:30pm. At about 4pm I start getting shaky and hungry so I never get any work done in the lead up until dinner. Late in the night I will be starving so I will have a nutritious meal of grilled cheese on toast.

I haven’t had asthma since I was a baby. I had it pretty bad. When I got accepted into the Australian Special Forces I was in prime condition. That was 4 years ago. They tested me extensively and I had no sign of asthma at all. A couple of weeks ago I had an asthma attack.

A Successful Affiliate Lifestyle

It’s all very well to talk about what I’m doing wrong, how I can improve and how great things will be. I can admit to myself that I can get carried away with this kind of talk. Then, when I comes to actually doing what needs to be done, I fail. Part of the reason I am writing this post is to hold myself accountable. I’m brainstorming ideas where I can log in and record my day’s activity. That will definitely hold me accountable to both myself and the readers.

In 6 months time I am going over to USA/Canada, haven’t decided exactly where yet but it’s going to happen. I just need to work out the visa situation so I can start booking flights. I have 6 months to get myself in order. Here is what I want to accomplish in the coming 6 months:

100 pages of content on a my Australian Gambling site every month, giving me a 600 page website

I haven’t come up with a plan for my Online Craps site yet, but it needs a lot of work done to it to bring it up to speed

I need to triple my income

Be in shape, mentally and physically

Breakdown of how I’m going to Achieve my Goals

My biggest problem has always been consistency. Full speed ahead, then crash and burn. Recover, repeat process again. This time it will be different. My guidelines will be must do’s. Before they were “should do’s.”

Here is a weekly breakdown of what I have to do to succeed:

25 pages of content each week

Gym 3 times a week

Yoga 5 days a week

Meditation 5 days a week

There are a lot more things I need to do, but if I can just keep these ones in check the rest will follow. In the past I have made the mistake of trying to do everything at once. Not this time.

Today I have already meditated, gone for a run and done my grocery shopping (dropping a 1.5 litre glass bottle on my bare foot didn’t help). I now have everything at my disposal so there are no excuses.

Something that has been concerning is my energy levels. I’ve always had the thought in my head that the longer I sit at the computer, the more likely I am to get work done. I just sit here every day waiting for it to all magically happen. I recognize what I need to do, now I’m being proactive about it.

With the poor energy levels from lack of exercise, brain stimulation, too much coffee and the monotony of it all I don’t have any energy. All day long I am lethargic. I did Yoga last night and I already feel better for it.

I have the knowledge, I have the desire and I am capable of doing anything I put my mind to. The next 6 months will be a stern test. But, by doing it every day/week/month at a time I will get there.

I will be blogging regularly from now on. I know I have said that in the past, but I need to do this to put myself on notice.

I have always been the guy with massive potential that underachieves. No longer will that be the case. If I am not what I consider successful in 6 months time, I am getting a job. Simple as that.

I did make a post yesterday about my goals for this month but it was deleted by Skynet. I have been having the world of problems with them – but within the next few hours I should be with Blue Host. I really can’t wait for that to happen.

Today I have been mainly working out the direction I am going to take with both of my Aussie sites. I am going to have to do a complete SEO overhaul of the poker site because at the moment it is simply tragic. I need to add some more pages to beef it up as well. Most of what needs to be done with this site shouldn’t take too long. Once I complete my initial tasks on there I will re-evaluate where I’m at with it.

I have just spent a fair bit of time planning where I’m going to be taking my Australian gambling site. I am going to give it a complete redesign and have a lot of custom features added. I will get some xml feeds added so I can display the latest sports odds as well. Aussie love to have a punt on sport so I think this is only natural to add.

I am confident I can take the gambling site to become an authority over here. I am thinking of ways I can offer something different to the mass of sports betting sites we already have (although they are poorly made). I am looking for programs that offer poker, casino and sports betting. I have had a look through the options available before and I really couldn’t find anything other than Bet365 that I was confident in. I would love to hear some suggestions from people.

In terms of what I can offer that is different I will have a few chats to some different AMs to see how willing they are to work with me on things. An Australian exclusive bonus is something that comes to mind, but I’ll have to wait and see.

For the Craps site I will be going through and fixing up some of the content that I had written for the site. I need to get this looking schmick and also interlink with the rest of my pages. I can also add some call to actions in strategic places. There are a lot of minor things to be tweaked but I think I will hold off on making major additions ove rthe next couple of weeks.

I’m going to Sydney on the 20th and I’m hoping to stay there for about a month. I will be helping my brother renovate his house and going to his engagement party. Now that a few days have already passed in June I really only have about 2 weeks to get everything in shape.

My main goal for this month is to get all my sites to a point where they are in a position to make good money and don’t have to have major work done to them. After I get them to this point I can simply add content natually and expand at the pace I set.

I can see the gambling site being a LOT of work in the next few days. It has a boat load of potential so i will put most of my efforts into it. I will make sure I won’t neglect my other projects though. I have some solid goals on the poker side of things too.

It’s going to be a month where I will work a ton of hours and it will be tough. It is almost certain that i won’t be rewarded that well financially but I predict next month is where things will begin to take off.

I will make a separate post about my personal goals, most likely tomorrow. I’m interested to hear how everyone went last month and what their goals are for this month. Last month was shocking for me. My worst month in a long time. Was it like this for everyone else?

If you can remember back to yesterday you will see that I set myself 5 goals for the day. Now that it is time to reflect I can say that I achieved the first three goals and not the last two.

I completed the first half of the day pretty much exactly how I planned. After I wrote the blog post on here I wrote three strategy articles. After that I went to the gym and did some grocery shopping. I came home and had dinner and chilled out for a little while. It was about 7:30pm by this stage and was about the time things started going down hill.

I didn’t get any more real work done after this point. When it was getting later on in the evening at about 10pm I had a killer pain in my right temple. I put this down to dehydration, crappy diet and general well being. I went to bed with the plan of getting up at 6am but didn’t wake till midday.

What yesterday proved to me was quite a few things. One was that I can’t live such a ridiculous lifestyle and still work as hard as I need to. The second is that I always set myself stupid goals. When I fail to hit my goals on a regular basis I lose confidence and get down on myself. I am the harshest critic I have. So I have a new plan of attack that is different than “I am going to write 10 pieces of content!!!”

Setting Realistic Goals

The point I want to make here is that even though I tried to write the 10 pieces of content yesterday I really was setting myself up for failure. I haven’t even written 10 pieces of content in a day before and recently have been writing significantly less than that.

So my new approach is goiong to be different. My end goal is to be writing 10 pieces of content in a day, but I know I am not quite there yet. So my goal is to improve on the previous day’s efforts each day. This way I will gradually be able to build up my work load until I get to the point where I can be happy with what I have done.

What I like about this plan is that I won’t constantly be feeling like shit because I haven’t hit my 10 pieces of content. All I’m doing is bettering myself. If we can better ourselves each day; that is something to be proud of right? This might seem like a cheap way out but this is what it is going to take to get to where I want to be at.

I was also just talking to Giorgio on Skype about my goals as well. He came up with some great points about using Google Calendar and breaking my day up into different segments. The constant feeling of “oh man I need to pump out all this content” can be a bit disheartening. So if I schedule in other work like SEO I can get a break from the monotony of the work. Sure the content is a high priority; but forcing myself to do it now at all costs hasn’t been working out for me as yet.

I have some great ideas for blogging topics that go outside the realm of how my day went. I am going to write my first one up right away.
